Lesson Plan 31.06.09
In today’s lesson we will be mainly focusing on defending a variety of attacks from the side of the body
After an initial warm up, perform the following techniques (remember if teaching these in class show the problem, a dynamic demonstration, slow demonstration, dry run, then practice)
Defending Straight Punches from the Side
Defending Low Stab From The Side
Finish the class with a dynamic conditioning drill. One of my favorites is 10, 9, 8, 7 Drill
This drill is for groups of 2
The first person performs
10 push-ups followed by 10 punches
9 push-ups followed by 9 punches
8 push-ups followed by 8 punches
7 push-ups followed by 7 punches
As soon as they are finished their parner goes. First group to finish wins. This is fairly tough to do at the end of a class when tired, but if you are very fit go all the way down to 1 push-up and 1 punch.
The exercise can be suplimented for any other you wish. (Try squat thrusts then sprawls with a knee strike for a killer finisher!)
Cool down
Any comments or other variations that you use please post in the comments section at the end of the post.

Are the videos set up in such a way that a beginner can start with the first one…work his way through and get a systematic and complete Krav instruction a-z?

i don`t think so…the vids are nice to view but there is no other way than goin` in a gym for a real instructor…otherwise u could learn some wrong moves…

The videos are set out grouped per category eg knife attacks, striking etc. And can also be searched by keyword.
I was thinking of adding a beginners post to the blog to show people where to start. If you think that will be helpful I’ll get on it.

Sorry cap, that isn’t correct, I trained totally in jujitsu with videos, books and a partner, including video testing by my sensei at a distance and I would be happy to compare my skills with any of the students that only trained in the dojo. Not only could I learn faster and at my own pace, I learned all the same techniques they did. Power of the internet and the electronic age.
